Original Body may well be your first journey exploring the use of alternating temperatures and energy work using stones within a massage treatment. This course focuses on the foundation and beginnings of LaStone Therapy and the science of the stones. Here you will learn the fundamentals of Thermo-therapy, the art of balance and relaxation, simple yet extremely effective energy techniques and many techniques of how to use the stones.

Simply Stones 2 days Tutor - Maura Barry - monthly
Simply Stones is a two day course to introduce you to working with warm and chilled stones. This course is designed for Spa workers or those people interested in taking Crystal Light Therapy. You will be taught how to give a body massage safely using stones and temperature.
Pre-requisite: Body Massage Therapist

Simply Stones Extended 2 days Tutor - Maura Barry - twice yearly This two day course is an extension of the Simply Stones course to bring you to Original Body level, so you may go on and take some of our other courses e.g. Deep Stone, Physical Stone etc. On this course you will learn more about thermotherapy and you will be introduced to energy work.

Sacred Stones - 3 days - Jenny Ray date to be announced This course follows the Shamanic approach and the ancient ways of the Native American Indians working with stones. The ceremonies are the focus of the course, learning ways to rest the stones, calling the directions and learning what each means & how its colours are used, journeying, massaging with stones in the traditional way, Dakota way of smudging and much more.
Pre-requisite: Energy or Body workers, not necessary to have studied LaStone Therapy

Stone Sole Connection 3 days Tutor - Lesley Masterson November 14, 15 & 16th A fantastically compatible partner for your existing reflexology treatment. This 3 day intensive training combines traditional reflexology with the healing powers of the stones and also uses the energy work and stone placement of the original body course.
Pre-requisite: Reflexologist

Crystal Light Therapy - 3 days - dates to be announced Crystals are place on each of your main chakras through a guided meditation enabling you to cleanse and heal. Together with the vibration of sound, ritual of cleansing and creating sacred space and full crystal point massage all go together to create this deep healing treatment. People attending these treatments have experienced life changing results; they report renewed energy levels, the ability to handle and cope with stress is noticeably increased and long dormant conditions related to non-apparent emotional disorders and insecurities are healed. Most importantly, the spiritual nature of the client is brought to the surface of consciousness. Brings a much needed and previously neglected concept of spiritual essence to the spa.

Along with in class hours each course will involve home study by the student. All practical courses will also involve clinical work.

Anatomy & Physiology

Will be held on Saturday and Sunday mornings from September 2006 to March 2007 one or two weekends per month. See dates below.

This diploma can be taken as a single module, or be taught concurrently with Holistic massage, Indian Head massage or Reflexology.

Curriculum
Involves the study of the structure & function of the following bodily systems: Skeletal System, Muscular System, The Skin, The Cell, Circulatory and Lymphatic Systems, Neurological Systems, Endocrine System, Respiratory System, Digestive System, Urinary System, Reproductive System

Reflexology
Reflexology is the study and application of techniques of the ancient art of foot massage. In the feet are mirrored the organs of the body, and reflexology is a way of stimulating the body's healing forces through foot massage. It works to relax and balance the entire body.

Holistic Massage

Massage has been used for thousands of years as a simple and effective method of attaining and maintaining good health. Massage has been incorporated into many health systems and this course may form the core and basis for further learning of various complimentary therapies.

Indian Head Massage

Will be held on Wednesday mornings and will run for approximately 6 months commencing January 2007

This is a gentle therapy which works on the neck, shoulders, upper arms, head and hair. It provides relief from aches and pains in these areas, and also promotes hair growth. It is renowned for relieving symptoms of stress.
